It has been a few months since I uploaded my last YouTube video, so I am happy to state I finally created a new one! It is my first cooking video for Mason Planet, and I hope to shoot a few more in the coming months. -M

I finally recorded a new Mason Planet video, which you can conveniently find below. In case you need encouragement to click "play," I not only provide a TIM update, but I also explain why I've had a limited online presence lately. (Hint: It has something to do with my education.) Interestingly enough, although I have been spending time promoting my new videos, my old YouTube account has become legitimately popular on its own. In fact, several videos from The Mason Show achieved enough views that I was able to monetize the account this past weekend. (Yes, I am kicking myself for uploading 58 videos to an account named Martian34567.) -M For the past ten months, I have been nurturing Mason Planet to become an authentic website, and not just somewhere I could share information with friends. As such, I can happily boast that my baby reached a big milestone today: someone finally commented on one of my blog posts. (Yes, you read that correctly: I am celebrating a single comment!)
At any other website, a single entry could get numerous posts in an hour, but I received one comment in ten months. (I will probably write stand up comedy about this one day, or cry about it to my therapist.) Someone was bound to comment eventually, and not surprisingly it was for a TIM post, but I am grateful I did not write the first comment. (I am also thankful that first person was not my mother, who by the way celebrated her... 29th birthday today.) While most readers simply view my blog from afar, Susan, the gorgeous saint of the Internet, felt the need to take that magical first step. Seriously, I am grateful to Susan, whomever she might be in real life, for illustrating that she enjoys my blog posts. I love writing this blog, and, while I think it's awesome that my posts are shared on social networking websites, I am excited to see readers commenting on my blog posts. Again, I thank you for visiting my web site, and for reading my blog. -M Another day, another Mason Planet video! Unlike the first two Mason Planet videos I made, this video is not as revolutionary. However, it is equally hilarious! Also, I would like to wish an early happy Mother's Day to any Mothers, Grandmothers, Expectant Mothers or Animal Mothers who happen to be visiting my blog. I can only hope that someone will view you as a M.I.L.F. and give you the thanks you deserve. (Note: "Mason's Potty Talk is not meant to be a celebration of Mother's Day.) -M "Wayne is Blindly Dating" is a comedic short film I directed and starred in, and is the second video to be uploaded to my new YouTube channel. The video features the first appearance of Wayne, a hopeless romantic whose life I intend to further display onscreen. Fans of my acting work should take note, as this is my first speaking role in a fictional video posted online. (Up until this point I've apparently been acting silently.) I am joined onscreen by two of my close friends, Maddie and Prom Date Katy. On a less important note, "Wayne is Blindly Dating" is my first successful upload of a Quicktime media file. -M For starters, today is the sixth month anniversary of my website. Thank you for continuing to visit the blog, albeit silently, and read about my latest adventures and opinions.
I hope the domain change from masonbkerwick.weebly.com to the more user friendly masonplanet.com has not caused anyone too much trouble reaching the blog. I believe the website can still be accessed by entering the old domain, but I am not sure how long that will continue. Is there anything else that should be changed as well? Please comment about what is working and what is not. Fortunately, this is an ever changing Web page, not a concrete slab, so updates can be easily implemented. Although if you would like the author to change, I recommend going to website that is not named after myself. -M It is hard to believe, but it has been an entire year since I have posted any videos to YouTube. If anyone has forgotten why, please click here for details about my decision. I figured since such a long amount of time has passed, it was time to create a new YouTube page. Hopefully, one with a more professional name than Martian34567. (Gosh, what a terrible page name! No wonder my videos attracted a limited audience.) To be honest, I created that account to be able to comment on videos, and later used it to launch Decorating with Mason. To celebrate my new YouTube page, Mason Planet, I uploaded a new video this afternoon. For your convenience, I have attached it to this post. After watching, please subscribe to Mason Planet, as I hope to post more videos soon. Also, feel free to spread the word among your friends! -M |
